Burst Play
Coming to a North Yorkshire children centre near you!!
Burst Play is a set of new activities have been taking place throughout 2011 and are set to continue during 2012. These new activities will be led by the three new Sport and Play officers and will be run in conjunction with the Children Centres across the district. The sessions will take place during term times and work on improving the fundamental motor skills in children under five as well as increasing general physical activity. Fundamental motor skills include work on the balance and co-ordination that are required with skills such as throwing, catching, walking, running and all the skills that make up sports that children take part in as they grow up. These sessions will give children a head start to sporting success with fundamental skill development providing a base for primary physical education to then build upon with specific sport development.
Burst Play works with a set of strong new partners in the Children Centres as we aim as partners to improve opportunities for children of all ages within the district.
